John came to LSW from Sudan. He, his mother, brother, and sister fled their village to escape the war. As John puts it, "Everyone around us was dying."
John made his way to LSW in 2007, hoping to learn to read and speak English. A year later, he became a citizen and is now on his way to earning his GED.
