Literacy Services of Wisconsin's GED program helps students prepare to earn a Certificate of General Educational Development.
In the GED Preparation program, students study reading, writing, math, social studies, and science in preparation for the five required examinations to earn a Certificate of General Educational Development.
In addition, we offer a pre-GED course of study for students not yet comfortable with the content of the GED Preparation program, but showing test scores in grade levels 6 to 8—with a goal to increase their skills to prepare for GED testing.
GED PREPARATION QUICK FACTS

Our GED students are a varied group—from young adults who didn't complete high school, to retired adults who are fulfilling a lifetime goal. All are courageous, deserve respect, and need the support of tutors. |

GED tests are only administered in-person—never online—and are available in Spanish, French, Braille, and large print. |
|
|
The GED certificate is awarded to individuals who have passed five tests developed by the American Council on Education: Writing, Reading, Social Studies, Science, and Mathematics. |
MAKING THE GRADE
During 2011, of the GED students who were testing for their state certification:
