Join a team of nearly 400 talented volunteer tutors who work one-on-one with students to provide more than 22,000 hours of instruction each year. Tutors are matched with students across all programs, and receive full orientation and training. We ask that our volunteer tutors commit to providing at least 90-minutes of instruction a week at our center in downtown Milwaukee. All volunteer tutors must be at least 18 years old and have a high school diploma.

MORE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Behind the scenes, Literacy Services of Wisconsin (LSW) has a team of volunteers that work on and support events, projects, and fundraising activities such as our annual Book Sale and Spelling Bee.

CORPORATE SUPPORT

LSW is pleased to partner with many respected Milwaukee companies. These partners support LSW in a variety of ways, including individual tutoring; forming tutor teams (up to four volunteers that each tutor once a month); sponsoring our annual Luncheon or Spelling Bee; sharing technical, creative, or artistic expertise; and leading projects that inspire both students and volunteers. Representatives from some of our corporate partners also sit on our Board of Directors and Board committees.

For more information about the ways corporations can support LSW, please call (414) 344-5878 or email volunteer@literacyservices.org.
